Minutes, IBIS Quality Task Group 03 December 2019 11:00-12:00 EST (08:00-09:00 PST) ROLL CALL Intel Corp. Michael Mirmak Mentor, a Siemens Business Arpad Muranyi Micron Technology * Randy Wolff Signal Integrity Software: * Mike LaBonte SPISim Wei-hsing Huang Teraspeed Labs: * Bob Ross Zuken USA: Lance Wang Everyone in attendance marked by * NOTE: "AR" = Action Required. -----------------------MINUTES --------------------------- Mike LaBonte conducted the meeting. Call for IBIS related patent disclosures: - None Call for opens: - None Review of previous meeting minutes: Minutes from the November 26 meeting were reviewed. Bob Ross moved to approve the minutes. Randy Wolff seconded. Without objection the minutes were approved. ARs: - AR: Mike LaBonte to test IBISCHK7 fix with Arpad's original parser hang testcase - Done. It ran successfully and found a number a number of errors in the files. - AR: Bob Ross to have BUG208 uploaded and notify the developer - Done. It was sent to the webmaster for uploading but has not yet appeared. The developer has been notified. He is ready to release a quick fix. We could wait to combine it with other bug fixes instead. The fix has been sent to source code licensees, so they can fix it themselves. Bob was considering making the fixed C file web accessible. Mike LaBonte felt we should not take any further steps to provide source code, except that which comes directly from the developer. IBISCHK7 parser development: Bob Ross said he was leaning toward issuing IBISCHK 7.0.1 with only the BUG208 fix. Mike LaBonte asked if other bugs might fall in the category of bugs written against the expected performance of IBISCHK 7.0.0. Bob said there were none, noting that the developer had also fixed a bug that he himself had found. We agreed to ask for only the BUG208 fix in a 7.0.1 release. IBISCHK7 source code license: Bob Ross reported no changes since the previous meeting. He will follow up with Dassault, who had been invoiced but had not yet signed the agreement. Two or three payments should be received in December. New IBISCHK bugs: BUG208: Already discussed. BUG207: Bob Ross said there was no way to determine I-V characteristics at the V-T curve endpoints for [Driver Schedule]. Mike LaBonte felt that calculation could easily be done for [Driver Schedule], but maybe not for every type of [Submodel]. Randy Wolff suggested limiting the fix to the special case where [Submodel] constitutes a static driver clamp, always on. This was the first proposed resolution in the bug text. Bob said IBISCHK worked fine as is, proposing that there could instead be a warning or caution, not an error, for calculated voltages that don't match V-T endpoints, the second proposed resolution in the bug text. Mike preferred the first resolution, noting that Randy had proposed it in the previous meeting. He also suggested changing the warning for other cases to included a message that the omission of [Driver Schedule] or [Submodel] currents in the voltage calculation might be the cause of the mismatch found. Bob suggested a different approach to extracting Randy's testcase model. Randy explained that his SPICE model did not have the controls needed to achieve the required conditions in a static mode. Bob suggested continuing the discussion in the next meeting. Randy asked if Bob could identify an existing buffer model that would fail the check if we used the first resolution approach. Bob was not sure he could. IBIS-ISS parser: Discussion was tabled. Bob Ross moved to adjourn. Randy Wolff seconded. Without objection the meeting ended.
